Oceanfront room views are amazing and spacious. Breakfast staff were friendly and kept the area clean. Check-in was quick but parking is super limited, so plan ahead. Easy access to the beach made our stay fun.

The room had an amazing ocean view and was just as pictured! I loved the friendly staff and the tasty breakfast with new options each day. The indoor pool and jacuzzi were spacious and well-maintained—just perfect for relaxing after a day in the sun!

Our stay was fantastic as we were right on the boardwalk, making it an easy stroll to the beach and various food joints that were just a few steps away, plus we enjoyed a private balcony with beautiful beachfront views and a comfortable king bed in a clean room, while the free breakfast spread was simply exceptional with everything you could think of, even though the bathroom lighting could be brighter.

I absolutely loved my stay, being just a few steps from the boardwalk and beachfront made my morning strolls delightful, plus being in the heart of the action was perfect for grabbing food at nearby restaurants like the 21st Street Grill and Peabody's, all within a short walk. The hotel itself offered comfortable rooms with stunning ocean views and a breakfast with a great variety that was a wonderful way to start the day, but I would have preferred if the second bedroom had a door for a bit more privacy.

The ocean view from my balcony is nothing short of breathtaking. The breakfast has so much variety and the staff is super friendly, always ready to help.

Breakfast options were amazing, and the staff radiated friendliness—it genuinely made a difference. The room was impressively clean, and the view from the balcony was a lovely perk. the toilet had a bit of an annoying quirk, running intermittently. Parking was a breeze, and I appreciated the thoughtful touch of clean towels left outside when I opted for the do not disturb sign. The pool was noticeably cold, and the decor could use a brighter vibe, but those were minor in the grand scheme. Little details, like the anniversary note, really made the stay special.

The kids had a blast at the theme park with so many rides to choose from. The staff were super friendly and made everything smooth and easy.
It wasn’t inexpensive, but for the fun we had, it was worth it.

Pool overlooking the beach was divine. Loved the free breakfast and the view from the balcony. I could even spot some dolphins. The hotel staff were very helpful - they even remembered my order at breakfast! Hilarious.
The sight of dead bugs in the room was a delightful surprise.

Clean room. Spacious and exactly as pictured. The oceanfront view is a true highlight. Breakfast was delightful, with rotating hot items each day. The staff, particularly a young man named Andy, were genuinely friendly and diligent. the noise level was an issue; thin walls made it difficult to rest. The couch in the living area left much to be desired. The indoor pool was colder than expected and often crowded with children. While the location is convenient, the lack of amenities and the dated decor detracts from the experience. A tip for management: add brooms for sand cleanup and consider larger coffee cups. Despite the drawbacks, I would return.

Couldn’t take a warm shower after multiple tries, and when I finally did, it turned ice cold right in the middle. So frustrating!

The room was very clean and comfortable. I appreciated the layout with beds separated by a small room, providing a nice touch of privacy. The view was amazing, right along the boardwalk. Temperature control was effective, keeping the room cozy. The noise level was manageable; we enjoyed peaceful nights. I found the beds adequate but not as plush as expected. Housekeeping promptly provided fresh towels and garbage collection, even with our Do Not Disturb sign. I did notice some sand buildup near the pool area that could be addressed for a cleaner experience.

The hotel's nightlife vibes were sick, with rad parties and DJ sets by the pool. Easy walk to the Boardwalk where we hit up the Amusement Center and Convention Center for epic times. The location was primo for young thrill-seekers like us.
Begging for more groovy hangout spots within the hotel - a cool rooftop bar or a trendy club would've taken our awesome stay to the next level.

My room was large and clean, with a comfy king-size bed and a sleeper sofa. The balcony offered a perfect view of the ocean—watching the sunrise and dolphins was amazing. The breakfast selection was excellent, and the staff was friendly and helpful. The indoor pool and hot tub were a nice touch for relaxation.
The hotel's appearance felt a bit dated with popcorn ceilings and old bathroom fixtures. It would have been nice to have screen doors on the balconies for fresh air.

We had a fantastic time exploring the vibrant nightlife by the VA Beach Boardwalk, popping into the exciting VA Beach Amusement Center, and even attending events at the VA Beach Convention Center. The hotel's central location made it easy for our family to experience it all in the evenings.
For dads, it would be great to have a dedicated play area for kids nearby.

When we first arrived at the Coastal, I was immediately impressed by the friendly staff members who greeted us warmly. They were always attentive and ready to assist with any requests we had. The hotel was nicely decorated, and our room had comfortable beds that ensured a good night's sleep. On the downside, the air conditioning in the hallways was non-existent, which made waiting for the elevator quite uncomfortable, especially after taking a shower. the noise from the air conditioning unit in our room was quite loud and disruptive, making it difficult to relax and fall asleep at night. One positive aspect was the cleanliness of the hotel, with housekeeping doing a thorough job and ensuring we had plenty of towels in the pool area. The breakfast provided was a bit hit or miss - while the hot dishes varied daily and the servers were friendly, the overall variety could have been improved. The coffee in the room and lobby was not up to par, and the sitting area in our room was uncomfortable. the location right on the beach was a definite highlight, and being so close to the boardwalk and food options was convenient. the plain decor and lack of amenities in the room left something to be desired. It's worth noting that the hotel was setting up for a concert during our stay, which impacted the overall experience negatively. Despite the shortcomings, the friendly staff and convenient location make the Coastal a decent option for those looking for a beachfront stay.

we loved the coastal hotel & suites - oceanfront. the breakfast was wonderful, especially the waffle station. the staff were super friendly and helpful, and the property was clean and well-maintained. the location was perfect, right on the boardwalk with easy access to the beach and nearby attractions. our suite had a great view, free parking, and all the amenities we needed. an overall excellent stay.

Had a blast during my business trip! The location was on point, right in the center of all the action. The balcony view was mind-blowing, perfect for unwinding after a long day. Plus, the complimentary breakfast spread was killer, offering a variety each day that was better than most places!
On the downside, the rules about breakfast seemed a bit strict. Couldn't quite wrap my head around why we couldn't take it to our rooms when other guests did.

Staying at Coastal Suites as a backpacking guest was an incredible experience. The friendly and generous staff made me feel right at home. The free breakfast exceeded my expectations with its variety and tasty options. The comfortable bed in my room ensured a good night's sleep. Special mention to Liz from the kitchen for her warm greetings and attentiveness. I will definitely recommend this hotel to my friends and family.
The couch in my room was uncomfortably firm.

the hotel was super clean, and the location was awesome - right on the beach at 21st street! the staff were really helpful, and the housekeeping was great - quick on the takedown and restock. we had all we needed, and the nearby attractions were so convenient.
